In memory of Jerry Beauchesne
It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Operation Walk Maryland volunteer Gerald "Jerry" Beauchesne. Jerry passed away on July 22, 2019 at the age of 82.
Jerry became involved with Operation Walk in 2009, and continuously exemplified the care and generosity of our volunteers. He gave much of himself to the cause and was always eager to help. Jerry was instrumental in developing our medical chart. He traveled on missions to El Salvador, Ecuador and India, where he helped with cleaning and sterilizing instruments.
Jerry’s most significant contribution was his positive attitude and motivating spirit. Having had his own knees replaced, he was an excellent ambassador to patients, their families and our own volunteers. Jerry was Operation Walk's first Volunteer of the Year. Although Jerry’s constant support and dedication will be missed, his legacy will continue to influence and inspire Operation Walk Maryland and its volunteers.
A remembrance of Jerry will be held on Sunday, August 25 at 11am at the Clubhouse at Quarry Lakes, 2525 Quarry Lake Dr., Baltimore, MD 21209, with a gathering after.
Jerry's wife, Dr. Kathi Beauchesne, has graciously encouraged family, friends, and supporters to donate to Operation Walk Maryland in his memory.
